Marena Pérez, principal dancer for the Balleteatro Nacional de Puerto Rico, will perform as the Sugar Plum Fairy, while Carlos Madera, recently a principal dancer for Ballet Brio of Bayamón, Puerto Rico, has the role of Cavalier. The two stars frequently perform together as partners. “Our company wanted to do something special for our 10th annual production, so we worked with an agent in New York — Mark Kappel — to find the perfect fit for Alameda Civic Ballet.
